General Assembly of the MENA
From 19 to 22 October was held in Cairo (Egypt) the General Assembly of the MENA. This assembly has been opened by its gratitude the Patriarch of Alexandria, Mgr Ibrahim. The National Secretaries of Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and Jordan were present. Were excused the National Secretaries of Palestine and the Holy Land, prevented for visa problems. At this meeting, the question of the contribution of Catholic schools in the Arab world has been addressed. The catholic schools represent the body of hope, which retain alive the seed of the word in countries of “mission”, and which allow the local Churches to exist. The question of the place made in the Catholic Schools for pupils with special needs has also been addressed. We must also underline the commitment of several countries (Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon) in the reception of refugees from Syria and Iraq.
