In a world rife with conflict, division and violence, education bears a vital responsibility: to teach people how to engage in dialogue, to embrace differences and to build lasting peace.

International Office for Catholic Education is organising an international meeting in Rome dedicated to education for peace. Church leaders, educators, academics, young people and representatives of international organisations will share their reflections and experiences, united by a common conviction: peace cannot be decreed; it must be learnt, passed on and built day by day.

The day will be guided by the four guiding principles set out by Pope Leo XIV for the educational community: interiority, unity, love and joy.

Education for peace-building

Through this gathering, the OIEC wishes to invite all educational communities to make the school a place where peace is lived out and experienced: a school that nurtures inner life, fosters unity, teaches love and cultivates joy.

By bringing together voices from different continents, generations and fields of work, this event aims to help shape new educational constellations of hope and to make every school a true workshop of fraternity.
