REIMAGINING AND TRANSFORMING EDUCATION
IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
The OIEC launches a digital transformation project for Catholic education
The Global Compact on Education and technology in the service of the mission:
Catholic education is going through a crucial time, facing the challenge of changing and adapting to the demands of the 21st century without losing its identity and mission. In response to this need, the OIEC is launching an ambitious digital transformation project, bringing in advanced educational solutions based on artificial intelligence and open to all Catholic schools that want to join.
This initiative is fully aligned with the values of the Global Compact on Education promoted by Pope Francis and aims to renew education through a humanistic, inclusive and person-centred approach. Its goal is to ensure that technological innovation always remains at the service of the integral development of students and the evangelising mission.
To support educational transformation in the digital age, the OIEC has published two complementary works: Catholic Education 5.0, intended for members of educational teams, and AI and Young People at School: Understanding, Reflecting, Using and Acting with the Global Compact on Education, an educational guide for young people.
Catholic Education 5.0
Placing people at the heart of technological innovation with the Global Compact on Education
At a time when artificial intelligence is transforming our societies, this book offers a bold and deeply humanistic vision of the Catholic school of tomorrow. Catholic Education 5.0 invites every educator to a true educational conversion, reconciling tradition and innovation, technology and discernment, pedagogical effectiveness and attention to the person.
Structured around the main themes of Pope Francis’ Global Compact on Education, the book offers clear guidelines and concrete ways to integrate AI into education without betraying its values: inclusion, ethics, data protection, personalised learning, new forms of assessment, training for the jobs of tomorrow, and more.
An indispensable guide to rethinking Catholic education in the digital age, promoting a more just, inclusive and fraternal education.
AI and young people at school
Understanding, Reflecting, Using and Acting with the Global Compact on Education
How can young people grow up in a world where artificial intelligence is transforming learning, jobs and human relationships? This book, published by the OIEC, is aimed directly at teenagers to help them better understand AI, question its challenges and develop a responsible and creative use of these technologies.
Structured in short, educational and accessible chapters, the book covers:
- The main definitions and history of AI,
- Its impact on everyday life, school, work and relationships,
- The ethical, social and environmental challenges it raises,
- Practical tools for learning how to use AI wisely,
- And ways to get involved in building a fairer and more humane future.
Rooted in the spirit of Pope Francis’ Global Compact on Education, this book gives young people the keys to understanding, but above all a compass: that of intelligence at the service of fraternity, the common good and peace.
